Balloon Fiesta Bento
For my final entry in the #YumboxSugarSmart Challenge, I made a Balloon Fiesta Bento.
Where I live we have an annual event called the Balloon Fiesta. It is actually the largest gathering of balloons in the world with over 500 balloonists descending on our city. Traffic gets crazy and people go nuts for the balloons.
My family loves the balloon fiesta, so I thought it was fitting to make this lunch to kick off the start of the week long festivities.
In this lunch:
Honey Whole Wheat Bread from Great Harvest Grain Company
TJ’s Organic Almond Butter
TJ’s Organic Raspberry Fruit Spread
TJ’s Hummus
Cocktail Cucumbers
Organic Baby Carrots
Organic Broccoli
Red Seedless Grapes
This lunch was served in the Yumbox Panino. The sandwich was cut out using a hot air balloon cookie cutter I found at a local store. The balloon ring I received from a trade.
#YumboxSugarSmart tip: When buying your jelly/preserves, look for one without sugar added. Fruit is naturally sweet and shouldn’t need added sugar. I love the Organic Raspberry Fruit Spread from Trader Joe’s. Tasty without extra sugar!
