Shoestring Bento: Leftovers
Today’s shoestring bento was made with leftovers. My son liked the meal so much he asked for it in his lunch the following day! I had some trouble thinking of something “cute” to make with the leftovers, so I opted instead for orderly.
One thing I love about the Easy Lunchboxes is the large compartment is shaped like a square and can fit four Wilton square silicone cups in it (though I only used three for this lunch). I love that they keep foods separate so they don’t flop all over each other.
In case you didn’t notice, there is a new player in this lunch. I added the Easy Lunchboxes Dip Container to the Shoestring Bento Lineup. I figured it wasn’t really cheating since it’s an inexpensive add on to the Easy Lunchbox (though full disclosure, Kelly from Easy Lunchboxes sent it to me). And, well, it’s my party and I can add what I want to. Right? (Besides, I needed a leak proof container to hold the ketchup. So there ya go.)
The line up:
Wheat Thin Crackers
Green Apples
Trader Joe’s Organic Ketchup
Organic Celery
Organic Baby Carrots
Mashed Sweet Potatoes
Almond Coconut Chicken
This lunch was served inĀ Easy Lunch Boxes. The silicone cups used were fromĀ Wilton. I used a knife to cut the apple and veggies.

It’s awesome that your son liked dinner so much that he wanted it again for lunch. Leftovers for lunch makes an easy and varied lunch. I like that you packed ketchup in a Mini Dipper. Now I need to think of a meal so I can pack ketchup.
